Shawn Fontaine, Physiotherapist

Registered Physiotherapist, MSc PT, MSc Kin, BSc Kin

My passion is helping people feel, move, and perform their best. I help patients of all ages recover from injury; from daily aches and pains to major life-altering injuries, have a more pain-free life, return to sport, or get back to doing the things that they love to do.

I use an evidence-driven approach that combines the latest scientific research and clinic experience that goes beyond symptom management and addresses movement, nutrition, and lifestyle factors. I understand that no single approach works for every individual, therefore I have trained in many methods that can be uniquely tailored to you to get you the most effective results.

Since graduating from physical therapy, I have completed training in manual therapy, strength and conditioning, and nutrition (Precision Nutrition Coach). In addition, I am a credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (McKenzie Method), certified Pain Truth provider, and am qualified to assess and treat concussions through Complete Concussion Management, the gold standard in concussion care.

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario, a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from McGill University, and a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from McGill. During University studies, I played Varsity lacrosse therefore I understand the demands of sport and can bridge the gap between rehabilitation and performance.

What You Can Expect Working With Me:

When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me drinking coffee, reading a book, sweating at the gym, or enjoying the great outdoors.
